choc·o·late

/ˈCHäk(ə)lit/
Noun
  1. A food preparation in the form of a paste or solid block made from roasted and ground cacao seeds, typically sweetened.
  2. A candy made of or covered with this.

As you may have noticed from the name of my blog, I am a bit of chocolate connoisseur.

No, I don't have a uni degree on it, but I've definitely tried my fair share to keep the chocolate industry going.

The above definition really doesn't do it any justice.  If it were me, I would describe it something like this:

"a glorious tasting heavenly substance made from a simple ingredient known as ground Cacao seeds.  Can be consumed on its own; yet also enjoyed with a warm cup of hot chocolate / coffee (depending on your taste).  Suitable for breakfast, lunch or dinner; all all of the above. CAUTION: Copious amounts can be devoured in one sitting".

In speaking with my good pal Sarah the other day, we decided it would be kinda fun for me to make my chocolate eating experiences a part of my travel lifestyle.

Why not...?

It's a part of my everyday living!

Having said this, my future travels will now consist of me trying each country/region trademark chocolate; taking a photo to record it, and preserving the memory of it by blogging about it.  Can you see it now...? Me, standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, with a chocolate croissant in one hand! Or a beautiful little hand crafted choccie riding a train through the Swiss Alps. Kind of celebrity like. In the words of Jim Carey... I like it a-lot!

Giggling like a school girl

Fact: I love to laugh (and smile) but mostly... laugh!

Today, while driving to work, I couldn't help but find myself feeling happy on the inside.  I even chuckled at the way the hedge leaves were moving irradically while the train was zooming past.

Perhaps this is because it's Friday, and I started off my day the best way I know how... with a hot chocolate (from Coffee Bean Estate, The Pier, Cairns Esplanade). Thats a sure way to making to me feel chipper in the mornings!

Earlier, I was stalking a high school friend's facebook photos and couldn't help but notice how darn happy she looked, in every shot! Perhaps it's because for the past 10+years she has been travelling the world, experiencing all the diverse and rich cultures abroad.  On one of the photo captions, I read about how she and her boyfriend had gotten some innocent little indian men stoned until they were giggling like school girls. And then I thought, when was the last time, I "giggled like a school girl"..?

Last night I got my hair done at my friend's salon, and we spoke about all the boring seriousness that our lives have become, heartaches and all.  In the end I asked her: "Don't you miss the goold ol' days when we didn't have a care in the world?!?".

That led us down a quick trip to memory lane and we were in stitches by the end of it. I drove home that night plucking out all these random funny memories from the Pandora's box inside my mind, some of which I will jot down in case I fail to recall them when I am old and forgetful:
  • Sonya, as passenger in the trolley that crashed at the bottom of the stairs in front of Tropos Nightclub. I was the driver. Where did that trolley come from anyway...?
  • Glitter 'party' at Crystal's place. Whose genius idea was it to poor glitter all over ourselves before heading into town anyway?  Leonne's inflamed eye didn't appreciate it... lol
  • Cosmo Hotel Mongkok, AKA Hong Kong Ghetto. Little asian dude missed the rather enormous step at the front of the hotel foyer (don't know how) and fell over .... causing quite a commotion! Okay, well it was just me causing the commotion with my boystrous (and very loud) laugh.  It really seemed like slow motion, and I played it over and over and over again in my mind for days after.  Absolute highlight of the trip.
  • Clint and I laughing so hard that Coke sprayed out his nose, when we were really young.
These be the good old days.... :)
